July 2025

July 2, 2025 – I’m Greggers. I snapped a picture at Taqueria Jalisco of the flyer for the Organ Fireworks at the church at 3pm – more our style than a crowd and a late night in Kerrville at Louise Hays Park.

Yeah, but fireworks in our neighborhood are plenty good, and our back porch has a view!

Our daughter, Sunny flew in from Oregon on July 2 to hang out with us for a couple of weeks.

We immediately went to In-N-Out… in Texas?!? In-N-Out is a California thing. Sunny met Zikora. She is amazing!

Then we took Sunny to see Granny in San Antonio with her sister, Kes (Kes is with us in Kerrville).

Sunny, Kes, Granny.

Sunny helps people in Oregon when they’re in trouble. Everyone loves Sunny!

Kes helps put out wildfires all over America.

And she likes to poop in the woods. Silly Kes.

Granny taught kids how to ride and take care of horses all her life and even had a petting zoo!

That’s Granny playing with Austin on the old farm in San Antonio.

Granny’s body is really old and tired now, so she hasn’t been on a horse in a very long time.

Their cousin, Ashleigh and her family met us on their way to the coast. That’s Uncle Jenn with Ashleigh’s kids at Grandpa Perry’s house. And the other Greg.

Ashleigh teaches school in the Hill Country, and her Greg keeps High School football players safe! That’s him with the arm sling. He didn’t stay safe himself. Oops.

Granny and Kes have the same feet. We laughed about that.

Austin lives in the mountains in Colorado. He really wanted to be here but is very busy making photos and videos. He’s going to come home later when he can fly his drones to get even more pictures and videos of the flood recovery.

We are really missing our third – Austin (with Aubrey!). Aubrey teaches people about the outdoors and nature and how to take care of our land.

Oh yeah – we are…

Kes, Austin, Sunny, Uncle Jenn, and Greggers. Nice to meet you!

Mama is Uncle Jenn because the twins just never said Aunt anyone when they were younger – everyone was Uncle something or other. Except Greggers. He’s the papa around here. Weird that he’s not Uncle Greggers, but that’s life.

UNCLE JENN! UNCLE JENN! UNCLE JENN! They yelled this a lot. They still do!
That’s the twins helping Greggers wash the RV a long time ago.

Anyway. Back to July 2025

July 3rd, the day before the floods here in the Texas Hill Country – Greggers was helping his friend Bill try to figure out how to build stuff at the hospital. His dog lay on his lap and Greggers took a picture. Bill does not like pictures, so I told him I wouldn’t put it on the internet. Oops.

That’s Bill’s dog, Sage. Bill would hate that I put a picture of him on the internet! But dang, that dog is cute! She barks a LOT

Bill is living on the Guadalupe river with Sage. He travels around the country in an RV building stuff! How cool is that?

That’s Bills RV and his truck at the HTR campground in Ingram, Texas.

Bill invited us to come to the river on a text.

We did not burn the dog! Bill is a lot of fun. And grumpy sometimes.

On the night before the floods, July 3rd, Greggers and Bill were texting each other trying to solve all the worlds problems. Or at least the ones Bill was building. Bill thought it was going to be an interesting couple of days.

On the morning of Friday, July 4th. Greggers figured he might could help Bill in case his shoes or something got wet in the flood. Texas floods a lot. Especially in the Hill Country and on the Guadalupe river.
